Definitions of Homelessness
| The World Health Organization has identified 4 types of homelessness: |

| 1. | Roofless: |
| "Rough
sleepers," newly arrived immigrants, victims of fire, flood, violence. |
|
| 2. | Houseless: |
| Living in temporary accommodations like hostels and shelters and those released from long term institutions like hospitals, prisons, foster care with nowhere to go on release. |
|
| 3. | Living in insecure accommodation: |
| People temporarily staying with others, tenants under eviction notice, persons under threat of violence, squatters. |
|
| 4. | Living in inadequate accommodation: |
|
Overcrowded and substandard accommodation. |
